Xmas mash up!

Had the Xmas party on the 18th December. I joined the team of my other company Greentrees Adventurestore who went to Bawburgh Golf Club for the annual Xmas bash. We had a fantastic time with our local hero Steve Roberts ( one of our valeting team with learning disabilities) doing a turn of Elvis in FULL Elvis outfit............. an out clearly too short for him and all the ladies got a sneaky peak of his wedding package........... disgusting!. But jokin aside we all had a great night.

Work starts on the new board display....

So the time has has come to start the new display of boards in our Surfstore. Our board display used to be set away from all the other windsurf hardware as caravan and motorhome equipment had to displayed between, but we have altered the shop to consolidate all of the windsurf equipment and separate the other caravan and motorhome stock. We started fitting the upright load bearers today and will finish the new display tomorrow. It will bring all the kit together and will make the shop feel far better stocked.

Weather over Xmas

Well I'm sitting here at 12 midnight looking at the forecast for Xmas hoping to get a sail over the next few days.

But shit its so cold!. Is it me getting older or is it getting really cold at the moment. Last year Steve( fellow Team Rider) and I were sailing regularly until mid January!. Oh well I have my Spartan winter suit, Prolimit gloves ( you should look at them, their awesome! - Prolimit Polar preshaped), ad beanie cap so I'm sure I will be fine..................Hmmmm

Awesome El Medano

I went out to El Medano,Tenerife earlier this month and what a blast it was. I went to the OTC centre run by Tris, Ben, Adam and Graham, and have just the best selection of 2008 kit from all the top manufacturers from around the world. After getting myself settled in I got to 'work' playing with the kit. Sailing in 22-25 knots of wind, I had just a awesome time hooking up, sailing out the 200 mtrs to get beyond the bay and into the best stacked wind driven waves I have ever had the pleasure of riding.
Just imagine looking beyond the sail to see mast high waves marching across from left to right of your sailing line and stacking up to vertical just before you slice slightly upwind and 'slam' off its lip......................... and then look down at the trough of the wave disappears from under you as you realise you are twenty feet above the water. Gybe on the outside ( easier said than done!) and then blast back in riding the backs of these monster waves and back into the bay.

But don't be put off, this location is not about big waves and Cabezo. Its as much about learning basic moves in the bay, or practicing your gybes in 'El Tejita'. The expertise of the boys there is simply fantastic - see our tutorial blogs which feature most of the team of the OTC - and they are always attentive, something that is less and less common nowdays. The food is lovely in El Medano town ( go to The Famaliar), an awesome restaurant which is very very cheap!. You can book everything through the OTC or can come out with us from the 9th - 16th March 2008. Cost is approx £450 including travel, accomodation, and kit hire. Call me @ the shop for details.

New Website finally opens....

After 6 months of planning and designing, we can proudly display our ALL new website for Quayside Windsurfers. When we designed the site with O2 Creative and Spring Web Design, it was always clear to us that the site had to be retail freindly, but with lots of other interesting features to entertain the customer.
So we went to blow you socks off with features such as ' Tutorial Movies' showing you clearly how to do some basic windsurf technique. Customer focused item displaying with 'Rider Ability' indicators. Click these and it shows you what level of sailing you should be doing at the stated rider ability.
You can study the weather with our direct weather link, a pics page where you can send your pictures of anything windsurfing related and we will stick it on the page.
Our most important requisite with the website was to offer customers a genuine reason to buy from our website. So to achieve this we have offered FREE delivery on purchases over £50, and have freebies on offer when you buy sails or boards from us.

See what you think of the site, let me know what you think on neil@quayside-windsurfers.com and I hope you enjoy the new site.
