Driven by Wind - Take a look!

I was talking to an old friend of Quayside Windsurfers, Dave White - much respected and still superfast sailor, and of Team Whiteboarders fame - and the conversation got onto his passion........ speed sailing.
He is running an event called 'Driven by Wind', a speed event run along 'The Ray', Southend - On-Sea, a location rapidly becoming a worldwide speed location. The events are run purely on the basis of the forcast and attract international sailors such as Finian Maynard and Bjorn Dunkerbeck.
Dave gave me the heads up that the forcast is looking good for this Friday, and we could get to see some awesome sailors doing their thing. I have fueled up the Quayside Team van, dried out the Semi-Dry wetsuit, and who knows, I might even get to sail with 'The Kings Of Speed'.

So I will let you all know how I get on, and hopfully get some decent footage for the website.

Aloha.......Neil

The Goped arrives ready for Le Mans

Those of you who know me will be aware that I am getting married to Sara on 12th July 2008. Before I do I must undertake the time honoured tradition of going on a stag event. I and 15 of my mates are going on a trip of a lifetime........... The Le Mans 24hr. We will be travelling down our cars, a rather tasty selection of exotica from my Lamborghini Murceilago, a Ferrari 360, two Porsches, SL55 AMG, M3, and a Mini 'works'.
So as a part of my preparations I have purchased my transport once @ Le Mans, a 43cc Goped. Capable of 30mph and with full suspension, I will 'cruzin' around the track........... until I fall off and break my leg!!

I join the Adventurestore Mountain Bike Team..

On Sunday I had a chance to join one of my other companies Team Riders for a morning of mad off-road mountain biking. The Greentrees Adventurestore Team riders were due to train at High Lodge, Thetford and so I met up with them at 7.00am to see what they get up to.
I picked up Kevin Greentree and Chris Bainbridge from Dereham and we set off for Brandon Park in the depths of Thetford forest, Norfolk. I was a little nervous as these guys are loons on their bikes - Last time I went out with Chris he cut open his shoulder really badly falling off riding down a 'Bombhole', (a massive crater left by bombers dumping their un-used arsenal in the second world war)....... then just back on his bike and carried on!.
We set off with Chris and Kevin pace making and me following on the rear. The terrain is pretty hardcore as we only use the 'Black Runs' designed only for the fully committed. I was doing very well for the first 7 miles as it seemed Kevin had eaten something that didn't agree with him thus slowing him down. He then stopped, got off his bike, and vomited the dodgy contents of his gut...... and he got on his bike saying " OK Neil, lets do "The Beast"
The Beast....... whats that?......." Its the most hardcore stretch of the run" Kevin replied calmly. So we set off with me leading............... SHIT!!!!. This was super radical bomb holes that have a 12" rutt you must keep in or get wiped out on a tree stump. The hills and holes are so steep and they violently turn from left to right. Any loss of concentration and it WILL hurt.
We arrived at Brandon Park cafe after completing 14 miles and I was physically AND mentally shattered!

Thanx Boys - I look forward to riding with you again!

Thanks to Kevin Greentree and Chris Bainbridge for an awesome morning out...... Neil.
