El Medano - Day 4 - 6

Things have calmed down a little giving out intrepid team time to reflect, and muse over what was a monster start to the week. With light winds on day 4 with all enjoying 6.5mtr - 8.5mtr sails and some cruising........... well exempt me who decided to obliterate my boom whilst as far away from the centre as I could get. I managed to limp back to the OTC and get a spanking from Tris the centre owner.

Pria is really coming on well and I think has found the big conditions of earlier in the week has brought her confidence on in the swells. Mark has found his feet with big rigs, Keith and Charlie have been practicing their freestyle 360's and doing very well!
Rob unfortunately twisted his ankle badly and is having to rest and recuperate ......in the bar!
I decided to try a SUP ( stand up paddleboard) in the small waves. It was quite obvious I hadn't used one but found it quite good fun. Will work on this back in the UK.

So days 4 - 6 have been more chilled out yet providing good sailing for all levels of sailor

Day 1 to 3 !

The first 3 days have been simply awesome.......

Our intrepid team were greeted by the windy Island with force 8 winds and in Tris's ( OTC owner) " mate, these are the biggest waves we've seen in 3 years"........UUHH!!!

Day 1 - Our team were on between 3.5mtr ( Rob, Pria) to 4.7mtr ( fat lardies like me and Steve!) and we all were a little scared at just how BIG the swell was. 1/2 mast high in the bay to MAST HIGH swell out beyond the bay. You just hung on, lined up the next wave coming....... then went skybound for about 2 seconds!!

Day 2 - Even bloody bigger waves!!. Or team were getting to grips with the conditions and fear was starting to turn to adrenaline. Pria, bless her heart, was persevering with just trying to get through the half mast high shore break!!... and she made it through in the afternoon!! - WELL DONE!!

Day 3 - Force 6, which by now seemed easy so all our riders were ripping it up on 5.3mtrs - 6.5mtr sails. Charlie had chosen to go with his waist harness, Keith, Rob and Mark were happily screaming in the bay............. and I got pissed on pink champagne with Sara. Woke up at 7.30pm with a raging headache so went and joined the team for drinks then a Chinese.
